Allspice Ground
The name Allspice was coined as early as 1621 by the English, who thought it combined the flavour of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Allspice is made from the dried unripe fruit of Pimenta dioica, a tree native to the Greater Antilles and Central America. It is used extensively in Caribean cuisine, including Jerk Seasoning, and is the one “false” pepper of traditional Five Pepper blend.
